Description Стартовый комплекс космодрома Байконур с ракетой-носителем «Союз». Со стартового комплекса запускались ракеты-носители: «Спутник», «Молния», «Восток», «Восход», «Союз» и их модификации. Всего на космодроме Байконур имеется 9 стартовых комплексов с 15 пусковыми установками, 11 монтажно-испытательных корпусов, 3 станции для заправки ракет-носителей, кислородно-азотный завод, 92 узла связи, 2784 км линий связи, 470 км железнодорожных путей, 1281 км автодорог. Космодром Байконур расположен в Кзыл-ординской области Казахстана. Общая площадь 6717 км². В настоящее время арендуется Россией у Казахстана. Baikonur Cosmodrome is the world's first and largest operational space launch facility. It is located in the desert steppe of Kazakhstan, about 200 kilometres east of the Aral Sea, near Tyuratam railway station, at 90 meters above sea level. It is leased by the Kazakh government to Russia (until 2050) and is managed jointly by the Russian Federal Space Agency and the Russian Aerospace Defence Forces. Both Vostok 1, the first manned spacecraft in human history, and before it Sputnik 1, the world's first orbital spaceflight of any sort, were launched from one of Baikonur's launch pads, which is now known as Gagarin's Start, named after Yuri Gagarin.
